Guangzhou Ronejie Energy Co., Ltd. (“Rongjie Energy”) has supplied lithium-ion battery cells and battery energy storage systems for JSW Energy’s Karnataka Solar + BESS Project in India. The project comprises 50 MW of installed solar capacity and a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Financed on a non-recourse basis, the project was commissioned on 5 April 2026.

Located at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka, India, the project integrates grid-connected solar generation with battery energy storage. The project entity is JSW PSP Eleven Ltd.

Non-recourse project financing was arranged through State Bank of India (SBI), with financial close achieved on 30 September 2025. The financing supported the project’s development, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Rongjie Energy supplied containerised BESS, including lithium-ion cells, battery system components and DC-side equipment, as part of the project’s 100 MWh storage infrastructure, with PCS supplied by Huichuan Technology. Following grid connection, the BESS underwent commissioning and operational testing in accordance with applicable requirements. It is designed to support renewable energy integration, grid balancing, dispatch optimisation and reliable power supply under the applicable power purchase agreement arrangements.

In 2026, the two companies signed an annual supply framework agreement covering 5GWh, further strengthening their partnership.
